This policy explains what Redirect Shark (operated by AdShark Marketing) collects, why, and how it's handled. It covers both our customers (people with accounts) and visitors who pass through redirects hosted on our customers' domains.
1. What we collect from customers
- Account data — your email address, and your name where provided (for example via Google sign-in). We use this to operate your account and send transactional email (such as sign-in links and invites).
- Billing data — handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details; we keep subscription status and plan information.
- Configuration and usage — the domains, redirect rules, and settings you create, plus standard application logs.
2. What we collect from redirect traffic
When a visitor requests a URL on a domain our customers have onboarded, we serve a redirect and log the event: requested URL, destination, timestamp, and standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and referrer. We use these logs to provide analytics to the domain owner (hit and miss reporting), to operate and secure the service, and to detect abuse. We do not use redirect traffic for advertising, sell it, or build cross-site profiles from it.
3. Cookies, analytics, and pixels
Our website and app use cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in), and may use the following categories of measurement and improvement tools:
- Web analytics (such as Google Analytics) — how visitors find and use our pages;
- Advertising and conversion tracking (such as Google Ads or Meta pixels) — measuring our campaigns and signups they lead to;
- Product analytics and session replay (such as PostHog or Microsoft Clarity) — feature usage, and reconstructions of interactions like clicks, scrolls, and page views to find usability problems. Where session replay is used, we configure it to mask sensitive form inputs such as passwords and payment fields.
Redirect traffic is different:serving a redirect on a customer's domain never sets cookies on visitors' browsers and is never used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
4. Service providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the service: cloud hosting, database and authentication, edge infrastructure, payment processing (Stripe), and transactional email. Our infrastructure providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us; advertising and analytics providers described in section 3, when in use, may also process data for their own purposes under their own privacy policies. We don't sell personal information; where advertising tools involve "sharing" data with ad platforms as some laws define it, you can opt out by emailing us.
We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Redirect Shark, our customers, or others. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction and remains subject to this policy unless you are notified otherwise. We are based in the United States and process and store information on servers located in the United States.
5. Retention
Account and configuration data is kept while your account is active; after account closure, we delete or anonymize it on request within a reasonable period, and residual copies may persist in routine backups until those backups cycle out. Redirect event logs are kept for analytics and operational purposes and pruned over time.
6. Security
Traffic to the app is encrypted in transit (TLS), and hosted redirects support HTTPS with managed certificates (visitors who request a plain-HTTP URL receive the redirect over HTTP). Access to production systems is limited and credential-protected. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law.
7. Your rights
You can access and update account information in-app or by emailing us, and request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California) you may have additional statutory rights; we honor verified requests consistent with applicable law. If you appear in redirect logs as a visitor to a customer's domain, the domain owner controls that data and we process it on their behalf to provide analytics (we use it independently only to operate and secure the service). Contact them, or us, and we will assist.
8. Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves; material changes will be notified by email or in-app before they take effect.
